The Features

Day and Night Cycle

Beginning on the journey, players will get to witness the changing in colour of the sky and lighting. Dawn through to dusk, into the tranquil night, players will not only have the beauty of day time but the night and all of the changes it brings to the audio and visuals.

Scripted Journey

Mostly a single pathway, on both land and water, players won't be given the overwhelming prospect of a whole forest to explore. Removing a lot of that choice, with a focus on moving from left to right, the odd 'Mindfork' in the road will give the players a dilemma. It will be for them to decide which pathway to take, giving them a unique interaction to that pathway chosen. Through the Day and Night Cycle, certain interactions will only be available at particular times, so dependant on the pace the players choose to take, although seemingly at random, the interactions are meticulously placed.

Journal

The mind wanders, races from thought to feelings, holding onto negatives easily and forgetful of positives. The players have access to the character's Journal. In it, all the interactions that the players come across will be recorded down. To remind players on the journey and especially at the end of a journey. In the journal, other useful information and utilities can be found. The journal acting as the settings, controls and journey history.

Progressive Interactions

To install the mindset of mindfulness and self-betterment, there will be certain interactions that progress in audio, visuals or meaning. The harmonica interaction, for example, increasing the level of skill with each interaction. Or smaller, more heartwarming interactions like befriending a wild animal over multiple smaller interactions. These are there to give players a reminder that not all actions have instant consequences, that mindful actions might reward you further in time.
